Email marketing strategy is very powerful if used the right way. Im not talking about spam and just blasting everyones email account using software that mines email addresses and sends them thousands of advertisements that no one wants. Email marketing done using consensual email addresses also known as opt-in emails. These are people that have requested and asked for more information. Or they have opt-in to receive a newsletter from your website. Or they have opt-in to your partners websites. By sending out notices of sales and promoting other peoples products to your email lists, you can make a nice supplemental income in addition to your current online business. Dont buy non-targeted bulk email addresses from companies, you dont know if its just a list of email addresses theyve collected or not. Your company could be sued or fine for spamming. You should develop your own lists or joint venture with other businesses to use their lists. Make sure the lists are double opt-in, meaning the people have to confirm their permission to opt-in by clicking a link inside the email so other people cant sign them up to join a list without their permission. Dont use old email lists or the lists of people you havent contacted in 1-2 years. People forget that they have opt-in to your lists and if you start sending them advertisements, they will accuse you of spam. If you have a good and responsive email list, dont annoy them by sending out a sales pitch or offer every other day. If you send out offers too often, people will stop buying and may even unsubscribe if they dont find your emails to be beneficial or worth reading. Make sure you send out emails with good information or give out free reports or ebooks every now and then.
