More people are buying ranches today for the seclusion, privacy, peace, and love of nature than for the purpose of making money. But ranching could make you rich if you have some capital to acquire a ranch and put it into operation. But you have to be different and not just the average rancher to skyrocket your profit.

What do I mean by this? Organic ranching.

People are hungry for organic foods and are health conscious. They would pay more, sometimes as much as three times the price for food that is free of chemicals, hormones, and other toxins. The beef and other meat taste so much better and is healthier hence the premium in price. This is a trend, and Im surprised that majority of farmers and ranchers are still sticking to the outdated methods. Sure, its cheaper and they produce more but its harmful to the consumer.

Before you accuse me of being a health nut, let me say that Im not a vegetarian and Im not super picky in what I eat. I do occasionally eat fast food once or twice a month. But thats beside the point; our diet has deteriorated to the point that we have more illnesses and disease because of a poor diet. If you have a farm, and want to turn it into an organic farm or ranch-youll make more money. If you dont believe me, look up how much people are willing to pay for top of the line Kobe beef that is beyond the highest rating of the scale. It is a farm, cattle ranch in Japan that has these special organic cows and the beef is exquisite.

Another great example is David Evans, a wealthy rancher, in California who firmly believes in organic ranching and also leasing part of his land to organic farmers. His profits are up and he sells his organic chicken eggs for $6 per dozen. If you think there is no money in ranching, look up David Evans Rancher in the search engines.

There is an abundance of cheap land available in Texas. You can purchase 100 acres of land easily, for $550-1700 per acre. Compare that to the high price of land in metro areas such as California or New York or Florida, and its a no-brainer. Even if you just want a small ranch as a vacation home its very inexpensive.

It seems that a lot of people with busy lives and busy schedules dream of doing something else. They wonder what its like to live on a ranch and live a cowboy lifestyle. Have activities, accommodations and make it a package experience rather than just renting the rooms out. Let them tag along for ranch chores and if its simple, let them lend a hand.

There are women that want cowboys, so if you have a ranch that has a women shortage dont fret. Maybe its a fantasy or what they really want but imagine keeping the cowboys happy by marrying them off and providing housekeeping/cooking/resort jobs for these women. Its a truly win-win situation.

Ranching is something that deserves a second look as there are many millionaire ranchers making a lot of money. Finding a niche and setting yourself apart is key-even in ranching.
