Millionaire Troubles and Woes

 Defining Moment
When people envy millionaires of their lavish lifestyle they dont think about the troubles and woes so called regular Joes dont have to deal with. You might be shaking your head now but money comes with responsibility and its own headaches. I know its better being rich than poor but I think the reason most people dont have money is because they wouldnt be able to handle it if they were to receive a windfall. Thats why so many lottery winners are broke in a short period of time.

It takes an emotionally strong and financial savvy to person to manage a fortune, very few are up to the task. Think about it for a second, would you be able to manage 100 million and make the right decisions? Everyone will be asking you what to do, theres the legal side, asset protection, wills, trusts, etc. and if you have businesses then more decisions.

Lesson #1: Dont be too eager to get to the top of the mountain. Enjoy your simple life while you still have it.

A stroll in the park or beach is so peaceful without worrying about financial statements of the company, mergers, cell phone ringing off the hook, profit and loss. Cherish the time that you have with your family and loved ones, and spend some time in church or on your religion. You might have less time when youre wealthy.

But this depends on what you WANT in life. If you value time freedom and financial freedom AT THE SAME TIME then you might be able to have both. Of course, the sacrifice to that is you cant have several hundred million or billions. I know of people with 5 million or so net worth that have all the time freedom they want. Also, you need to pick your niche and business carefully.

Can the business survive, and even thrive without your presence? Does it have a system to run on auto-pilot? If you can take an eight week vacation without it collapsing then youve got a winner.

Lesson #2: Have you grown into the type of person capable of making and managing great wealth?

It takes a certain set of qualities and skills to make and manage that kind of money. Have you grown enough to under take such a task? If you think and act or work like a $10 an hour worker, then you arent millionaire material yet. Theres a reason why you are making the type of money youre making. Thats what you think you deserve, subconsciously and thats what your actions show to the universe. If you want something different, then change your thoughts, and change your actions.

Do what others arent willing to do and get what others dont have.

Lesson #3: Have high morals and standards. Dont fall into the trap of quick money by doing things youre not proud of.

I read an article about Robert and Andrew Kissel, both millionaires and both murdered. If you want to find out more, you can do a quick search in yahoo or google. Robert couldnt help that his wife killed him because of her affair but Andrew Kissel was involved in money laundering, fraud, and a host of other white collar crimes.

Its not worth it to defraud people and commit crimes just to get your hands on the millions. Sleeping soundly at night in your apartment is worth more than millions.

You have nothing to prove to anyone and people arent better than you because they have more money. They just have more skills and knowledge than you at this time. Theres always time to catch up and fortunes come and go. Wealthy families can lose everything when their business goes bankrupt or in lawsuits. Money can be made quickly but it can evaporate just as fast. A scandal or a few bad investments can be the end of the richest family.

Its all a cycle; you just have to wait your turn. Meanwhile, keep those morals and standards high-trust me, youll thank me later for reminding you because theres temptations everywhere. Do the right thing when you are tempted to do otherwise.

Dont lie, steal, step over people, or sell yourself for money-of course, that goes without saying. Im not your mother and this is no lecture. I believe that people are good but often times can get sidetracked and temptations are flung into their faces constantly.

I am reminded of an old saying, Life is a journey, not a destination so enjoy your journey, future millionaire in the making. And you better get used to thinking of yourself as a millionaire and make sure youre comfortable thinking of yourself as such before you can amass your fortune. If you uncomfortable thinking of yourself in a millionaire role, your money will quickly disappear.
